In about two minutes, you will see which patterns stand out and what kind of support fits. This check is not a diagnosis; it is a starting point.

About the Check for College and Adult Learners

What does this check measure for college and adult learners?

The check looks at four patterns that often sit behind academic struggles after high school: reading and writing differences such as dyslexia, attention and executive functioning challenges associated with ADHD, test and performance anxiety, and academic burnout, where strategies that once worked no longer keep up with heavier demands. Your answers show which patterns stand out, so you know where to focus and what to ask about in a consultation.

Is this a diagnosis, and can it get me accommodations?

No. This is an educational self-check, not a clinical assessment, and it cannot be used to request accommodations. Colleges, graduate programs and testing agencies such as LSAC, AAMC and state bar examiners usually require documentation from a comprehensive evaluation by a licensed professional. If your results point to a learning difference, ADHD or anxiety and you want extended time or other supports, learn about accommodations evaluations. Many adults first realize they may have a learning difference in college or graduate school.

Can adults and college students get therapeutic tutoring online?

Yes. Therapeutic tutoring for college students, graduate students and professionals is available online nationwide, so sessions fit around classes, work and family. Adult sessions focus on study systems, reading and writing strategies, exam preparation and managing the stress that gets in the way, all applied to your actual coursework or exam material. Many adult learners choose 60- or 90-minute sessions; see our fees page for details.
