Therapeutic Tutoring Fees & Payment Options | FSA Accepted

Therapeutic tutoring costs $110 to $125 per 30 minutes. Sessions run 30, 60 or 90 minutes depending on the student’s age, attention span and goals. You can pay with a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), a limited number of Foundation-supported seats reduce the cost by 25%, and your first consultation is always free.

Session Fees

Every session is delivered by a licensed clinician who addresses the academic skill and the emotional barrier in the same hour, which is why therapeutic tutoring is priced differently from standard tutoring. You are paying for one professional doing the work that usually takes both a tutor and a therapist.

Session lengthStandard rateFoundation-supported rate (25% off)
30 minutes$110 to $125$82.50 to $93.75
60 minutes$220 to $250$165 to $187.50
90 minutes$330 to $375$247.50 to $281.25

Your exact rate within the range is confirmed during your free consultation, before any paid session is scheduled.

How session length is chosen

Younger students and students with significant attention challenges often do best with focused 30-minute sessions. Most middle and high school students work in 60-minute sessions. Longer 90-minute sessions suit college students, graduate students and professionals, and anyone preparing for a high-stakes exam. We recommend a length at your consultation and adjust it as the student progresses.

Ways to Pay

Flexible Spending Accounts

FSA funds can be used to pay for therapeutic tutoring. Some plan administrators ask for a letter of medical necessity, so check your plan’s requirements before your first session. The IRS describes eligible medical and special education expenses in Publication 502.

Foundation-Supported Seats

Through the Foundation, a small number of families receive a 25% reduction on every session. Seats are limited and fill quickly. Ask about current availability when you book your free consultation.

Insurance

Therapeutic tutoring is not billable to health insurance. If your student also needs therapy or a psychological evaluation, we can talk through those services and how they are paid for separately.

Packages

Package options are available, but we discuss them only after the first session. A good match between student and tutor matters more than anything else, so we want you to experience a session and feel confident the tutor can give your student what they need before talking about longer commitments.

What Happens Before You Pay Anything

  1. Free consultation. Book a time to talk through your student’s needs, school situation and goals.
  2. Recommendation and rate. We suggest a session length, confirm your rate, and let you know whether a Foundation-supported seat is available.
  3. First session. Your student meets the tutor and starts working on real material.
  4. Your decision. If the fit feels right, we discuss ongoing scheduling and package options.

Fees and Payment: Frequently Asked Questions

How much does therapeutic tutoring cost?

Therapeutic tutoring costs $110 to $125 per 30 minutes. A 60-minute session is $220 to $250, and a 90-minute session is $330 to $375. The rate is higher than standard tutoring because each session is led by a licensed clinician who works on academic skills and the anxiety, attention or motivation problems blocking them at the same time. Your exact rate is confirmed during your free consultation, so you know the cost before any paid session is scheduled.

How long are therapeutic tutoring sessions?

Sessions run 30, 60 or 90 minutes. Younger students and those with significant attention challenges often do best in focused 30-minute sessions, while most middle and high school students work in 60-minute blocks. Ninety-minute sessions suit college students, adult learners and exam preparation. We recommend a starting length at your consultation and adjust it as your student builds stamina and skills. Students with ADHD in particular often start shorter and lengthen sessions over time.

Can I use my Flexible Spending Account (FSA)?

Yes. FSA funds can be used to pay for therapeutic tutoring. Some FSA administrators require a letter of medical necessity or documentation of a diagnosed condition such as a learning disability or ADHD, so check your plan’s rules before your first session. If you need documentation of a diagnosis, a psychological evaluation may help. The IRS outlines eligible medical and special education expenses in Publication 502.

Do you accept health insurance for therapeutic tutoring?

No. Therapeutic tutoring is not billable to health insurance, even though it is delivered by licensed clinicians. Families pay directly, and many use FSA funds. If your student also needs individual therapy or a formal psychological evaluation, those are separate services with their own payment options, and we are glad to talk through which combination makes sense for your student during your free consultation.

What is a Foundation-supported seat?

A small number of families receive Foundation support that lowers the cost of every session by 25%. For example, a 30-minute session drops to $82.50 to $93.75 and a 60-minute session to $165 to $187.50. The Foundation is funded in part by proceeds that go toward free and reduced-cost care. Seats are limited, so ask about current availability when you book your consultation.

Do you offer package pricing?

Yes, package options are available, but we discuss them only after the first session. The match between student and tutor is the strongest predictor of progress, so we want your student to experience a real session and you to feel confident the tutor can provide what you are looking for before you consider a longer commitment. There is no pressure to commit to a package up front, and no package is required to continue.

Is the first consultation free?

Yes. Every consultation is free and carries no obligation. It is a conversation about your student’s needs, what school has been like, and what you hope will change. We recommend a session length, confirm your rate, and let you know whether a Foundation-supported seat is available. Professionals referring a student can also reach us first through our referral page. You can book online or send us a message.
